To reapply, simply add any new information to your Renewal FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov or your paper Renewal FAFSA, which you may receive in early winter at your home address. If you don't receive a Renewal FAFSA, you'll need to complete a new FAFSA, either online or on paper.

Your Renewal FAFSA carries forward most of the information you provided the prior year. You only need to update information that has changed, such as your income or family size, and complete any areas left blank. Look for bold arrows and questions that don't have answers. Be sure to review the colleges you listed. Contact your college's financial aid office if you need assistance.

If you change schools, your financial aid will not always go with you. To find out how to receive aid at your new college, contact the college's financial aid office.

The FAFSA: Paper or Electronic
You only need file one FAFSA each year and have the option of completing the FAFSA on paper or electronically.

The paper version of the FAFSA is generally available in November at high schools, career centers, libraries and financial aid offices. The FAFSA can also be obtained from the Federal Student Aid Information Center by calling toll free 800.433.3243.

If you'll be filing your FAFSA electronically, go to the U.S. Department of Education's Web site at www.fafsa.ed.gov and complete the FASFA on the Web. Complete the Pre-Application worksheet, also at www.fafsa.ed.gov, if you prefer to fill something out before applying online.
